What is charles mcburney?

Charles McBurney Jr. (February 16, 1845 – June 7, 1913) was an American surgeon who is best known for developing the McBurney incision for appendectomy. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and graduated from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1869. After serving in various hospitals and clinics, he became a surgeon at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. In addition to his contributions to surgical technique, McBurney was also a pioneer in introducing aseptic methods to surgical practice. He was a founding member of the American Surgical Association and served as its president in 1909. He died in Lake Placid, New York.
